The Painesville Community Improvement Corporation (PCIC) is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization that was formed in 1977. The purpose of the PCIC is to be active in the physical, social, and economic revitalization of Painesville City as put forth in our By-Laws.

 
The Painesville Community Improvement Corporation provides funding for the following programs:
Economic Revitalization

•Grant Program:
This program has awarded over $60,000 in the past four years.
• Painesville Fire Dept. - Thermal Imaging System.
• Enhancements to Harvey High School WHHS TV station.
• External audible hearing aid devices for Painesville Schools.
• Sprinkler system in Veterans Park.
• Mobile cameras for Painesville Police Dept.
• Contribution towards Skate Park.
• New Picnic Tables for Recreation Park.
• Co- Sponsors for Dart Study for moving forward in Downtown Painesville.
• Co-Sponsors with the Downtown Merchants for Tree Lighting on Main St.


Social Revitalization
  •Party In The Park: July 18, 19, and 20
A three day Free Music festival held annually in July. This is the largest free music fest in Ohio.
 
•Easter Egg Hunt:
Held annually one week prior to Easter.
•Spirit of the Season:
Held annually in December and features children's fun and festivities with Santa.
•Concerts In The Park:
PCIC co-sponsors with the City of Painesville live concerts, which are free to the public, that take place weekly at the gazebo in Veterans Memorial Park on the square in downtown Painesville during the months of June, July and Aug.

•Taste of Painesville:
PCIC co-sponsors with the City of Paineville "The Taste of Painesville", we invite everyone to come down for a great evening of fun. Taste the wonderful foods available in Painesville when ever you come to town.

Physical Revitalization
•Beautification Committee :
• Assisted the City of Painesville with the purchase of lights and figurines for Veterans Park Christmas Display.
•Co-Sponsoring funding to Downtown Painesville Organization for upcoming program of hanging flower pots throughtout parts of the city.
• Purchased banners posted throughout the City on telephone poles.
 
 
The Painesville Community Improvement Corporation seeks to fulfill the needs of the citizens of Painesville, restore activity and liveliness within the city, provide a sense of community among the people, and to encourage area wide events for the benefit of the residents and business community.

We are a cross section of civic-minded individuals committed to enhancing the Painesville community. We welcome anyone who would like to join in our efforts, contribute to our programs, and bring new ideas to the group.

The Painesville Community Improvement Corporation general membership meets the second Monday of each month at 5:00 in the Hemphill Room at the YMCA on Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH. We invite you to attend at anytime, you may come without any other invitation, you are welcome to just walk in.
